ChangeThis
The original idea behind ChangeThis came from Seth Godin, and was built in the summer of 2004 by Amit Gupta, Catherine Hickey, Noah Weiss, Phoebe Espiritu, and Michelle Sriwongtong. In the summer of 2005, ChangeThis was turned over to 800-CEO-READ. In addition to selling and writing about books, they kept ChangeThis up and running as a standalone website for 14 years. In 2019, 800-CEO-READ became Porchlight, and we pulled ChangeThis together with the rest of our editorial content under the website you see now. We remain committed to the high-design quality and independent spirit of the original team that brought ChangeThis into the world.

Why Women Are Especially Well-Suited for Professional Partnerships
By Claire Mazur, Erica Cerulo
"Women and their relationships are especially ripe for professional partnerships. The reason that these pairings aren't the ones we're quick to reference has everything to do with a workplace culture that has, for as long as it's existed, privileged men and their approach to business. But slow and steady progress toward dismantling male dominance at the office has carved out space for women to collaborate instead of compete professionally, and that's set the stage for change."

Putting People First and Product Second: A New Approach to Sales
By Steve M. Rigby
"'Careers can be difficult, particularly those that involve sales. I know. I've sold sawmill equipment and starved. I've sold automobiles and sucked. I've sold real estate and struggled. You noticing a pattern? Hey, at least I was consistent and persistent. Then, I tried selling new homes and succeeded—succeeded beyond my wildest dreams. So what changed? What was different? Why the turnaround? As corny as it may sound, I learned how to smile."

Discovering the Power of Positive Transformation
By Lucia Giovannini
"Opening up to any kind of change takes work and time, but by developing the right tools and skills to cope with it, over time, we can train ourselves to open our arms to welcome almost any change we encounter, whether it be chosen or forced upon us."

The Customer Centricity Manifesto: Leverage Customer Lifetime Value to Create a Winning Strategy
By Peter Fader, Sarah E. Toms
"Companies are struggling to turn today's wealth of information into actionable insights that drive value for their organization—and for customers—because frankly, most business approaches to sales, marketing, data analytics, and finance remain stuck in a bygone era."

Navigating the Ninja Future
By Gary Shapiro
"More fundamental human problems will be solved in the next two decades than have been solved in the last two centuries. … These innovations will bring with them tremendous changes—and tremendous challenges. And in the midst of this change, stability seems sensible—but sameness is not a winning strategy. In our fast-moving economy, businesses and governments that stick with what's worked in the past will be left in the past."

Scaling Leadership: A Manifesto
By Robert J. Anderson, William A. Adams
"Ineffective leadership caps the ability of an organization to grow. Leadership that works at one level of scale is likely to run into serious limitations at the next level. The men and women who may be well-suited to lead a 100-person business unit with $30 million in annual revenues may be unable to lead a 250-person business unit with $100 million in annual revenues. To scale the organization, you must scale ever more effective leadership."

Enough of MORE: Better is Better
By Henry Mintzberg
"Economists insist that MORE is the way forward. No, it is the way backward, economically as well as socially. We don't have to destroy our progeny and our planet for the sake of a senseless dogma. Sure we need development and employment, but responsible development with robust employment. A healthy society is sustained by a decent and diverse economy, not one driven by the mercenary force of one-dimensional growth. Stock markets have done enough damage."

Why CEOs and Boards Need to Be Fearless
By Jean Case
"The role of board member compels one to be diligent as a fiduciary. What is often not well understood is that while the role of fiduciary is necessary, it is not entirely sufficient. Board members also need to be champions of, and networkers for, the organizations they serve. And, particularly in a world where change is accelerating and disruption is becoming the norm, board members also need to step up and challenge the organizations they care so much about—and the same goes for CEOs."

Hustle & Float: Reclaim Your Creativity and Thrive in a World Obsessed with Work
By Rahaf Harfoush
"The strategies we're putting in place to increase our productivity are hurting our creative performance. By industrializing our creative skillset, we've prioritized performance and ignored critical hidden forces at play—our cultural, historical and biological baggage—that underlie and influence our conceptions of work."

My Metacognitive Journey: The Power of Understanding Yourself
By Dave Mitchell
"Perhaps the most satisfying development associated with writing a book is when you as the author stumble upon a revelation in the middle of the process. For this book, I came to understand the answer to a question that I am often asked and have struggled to answer for many years. So many times, I am approached by an attendee and asked, 'Can people change?'"
