JulieMae—two entities performing as a unified piece (translation: please do not call her Julie)—Engelmann’s production history stems largely from her four years of hands-on work at a local print shop. As a trained metalsmith, she is hyperfocused on details. She continues to work on the ever-expanding special projects at Porchlight using her BFA in Design + Digital Fabrication to bring a new perspective to production workflow and processes. Outside of work she can generally be found photosynthesizing with her family of plants or supporting the restoration of coral in an aquarium-filled apartment. In her free time, and when the planets align, she makes art of various specimens.
