When we think of creativity, we often forget the broad scope of what that means. We look to alter details, not scrap entire systems and start from scratch. In some ways, we attempt to make the process of doing what we're supposed to do more interesting, and that's it.
Erik Wahl, in his new book Unthink (and his work in general), calls for us to go further, to not just do something creative, but to undo and rebuild entirely what we do and how we do it. You can read more about the book in our review.
Recently, Erik sent us one of his esteemed paintings, such as he produces on stage at his events. As a business speaker, he combines visual art into his talks as a metaphor for acting creatively. It's also interesting to note that by doing this, he's breaking expectations of what a business speaker/author is supposed to do. Whether you're an author or not, think about that approach, and how it might be applied to your work. It's always a good time for positive change.
