One of the premier business book awards announces its shortlist.
The Financial Times and McKinsey have released the shortlist for their 2015 business book award.
As Dylan wrote about the longlist:
This year's shortlist includes:
2014 Bracken Bower Prize Winner Gets a Book Deal
In 2014 The Financial Times and McKinsey introduced the Bracken Bower Prize, a 15,000 prize that goes to the best business book proposal from a writer under 35. The award went to World Economic Forum senior director Saadia Zahidi, and just announced was that Nation Books has bought the rights to publish Zahidi's book.
The book is about the 40 million women across the Muslim World who have entered the workforce in the last decade alone, telling the stories of the remarkable women—from McDonald's workers to software technicians—who are at the forefront of this revolution, and revealing how they will permanently reshape their countries' economies and societies.

As Dylan wrote about the longlist:
It is always a great list, and (as I've said in years past) quite different from our own awards as it focuses on more macroeconomic, "big picture" books whereas we focus in on the nuts and bolts of business and business management. This year is no exception.
This year's shortlist includes:
- Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future by Martin Ford, Basic Books
- Losing the Signal: The Untold Story Behind the Extraordinary Rise and Spectacular Fall of Blackberry by Jacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff, Flatiron
- Digital Gold: Bitcoin and the Inside Story of the Misfits and Millionaires Trying to Reinvent Money by Nathaniel Popper Harper/ HarperCollins
- Unfinished Business: Women Men Work Family by Anne-Marie Slaughter, Random House
- Misbehaving: The Making of Behavioral Economics by Richard Thaler, W.W. Norton& Company
- How Music Got Free: The End of an Industry, The Turn of the Century, and The Patient Zero of Piracy by Stephen Witt, Viking
