The shortlist has been announced for the 2017 FT & McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award.

I'd like to believe that our business book award is the most coveted. I mean, The FT & McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award comes with a £30,000 prize, with £10,000 awarded to each runner-up, so it's probably close, but…

This list comes from a longlist of 17 titles, and the competition was fierce. From FT journalist Andrew Hill:

"For the first time in the award’s 12-year history, the judging of the shortlist was taken to a vote, after the panelists were divided on the final selection."

Lionel Barber, FT editor and chair of judges, said: “After an exceptionally robust debate on a wide ranging longlist, we have chosen six titles [that] offer a compelling insight into today’s business trends.”

The winner will be announced on November 6th at a ceremony in New York City. We'll update you here when it is announced.
