Being a Leader: Women on the Rise
September 04, 2012
We've released a new exploration over on KnowledgeBlocks. This month's Being a Leader curriculum is titled: Women on the Rise. KnowledgeBlocks members can enjoy reading through the 5 recommended books and the material we've curated to help you build your business knowledge about why and how women get to the top.
Women leaders are becoming more common in high-profile companies, and we celebrate their achievements. Marissa Mayer recently took the top spot at Yahoo amid some controversy (e.g. whether she has the background, how she will perform while pregnant and as a new mother.) Regardless of the strides, the issue of women progressing and succeeding in the workplace is always a complicated one, and in this exploration, we look at the residual inertia women face as they rise through the ranks, and how they can counter future resistances and challenges.
